A Severe Red Flag Warning is in effect for Oklahoma City from 5:00 PM today until 7:00 PM this evening due to critical fire conditions. Currently, it is overcast with a temperature of 42.6°F and winds are blowing from the north at 23.1 mph.

Earlier today, temperatures in the city reached a high of 68.4°F. However, a sharp drop in temperatures is expected as the evening approaches, with a forecasted low of 34.7°F tonight. Winds could gust up to 26.5 mph under continued overcast skies.

Alongside the Red Flag Warning, a Severe High Wind Warning and a Moderate Fire Weather Watch have also been issued, reflecting the potential for gusts up to 65 mph and low humidity levels around 20 percent. These conditions can cause rapid fire spread, and residents are advised against outdoor burning.

Temperatures are expected to remain cool tonight with strong northern winds persisting. The combination of low humidity, high wind speeds, and fuel energy on the 70th-89th percentile scale contributes to the increased fire risk.
